Man of the match in last week’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash between the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and the Waratahs, Isikeli Rabitu says he did not expect to receive the award but is determined to deliver another strong performance this week against the Hurricanes if given the chance to start, as the team hunts for its first win of the season.
The former Suva Grammar School student rose to prominence during the Secondary School Deans competition and was quickly recruited by the Drua at just 18 years old.
Rabitu impressed on both defence and attack last week, earning his place in the starting lineup and embracing the responsibilities that came with wearing the jersey.
He says that the Hurricanes are a quality side and says the team is prepared for the challenge in Lautoka.
Rabitu added that the Drua have taken valuable lessons from their first two matches and is urging fans to turn out in large numbers to support the side as they push for their first victory.
The Drua will host the Hurricanes at 3.35pm this Saturday.
In other fixtures, Moana Pasifika face the Western Force at 6.05pm on Friday, followed by the Reds taking on the Highlanders at 8.35pm.
On Saturday, the Chiefs meet the Crusaders at 6.05pm, before the Brumbies clash with the Blues at 8.35pm.
