With just a few hours to go before the UB40 featuring Ali Campbell Big Love Tour concert at King Charles Park, Police have stepped up security across Nadi as final preparations are underway.
Divisional Police Commander Western, Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa says they are fully prepared to ensure the event remains safe and incident-free.
He says specialised police resources will be deployed, including the K9 unit and modern surveillance technology, to monitor crowds and prevent criminal activity.
SSP Vaisewa says strict searches will be done at the entrance, and they will also conduct spot checks on suspicious persons.
He has warned concert-goers against engaging in illegal activities, particularly alcohol-related offences.
He adds that Police visibility will be increased along the Nadi Town, Namaka and Lautoka corridors, as part of the broader security operation.
Meanwhile, New Zealand reggae band Katchafire will take the stage today alongside local acts Paradise Rootz, Nicky & Ouvacast, and DJ Vibes, with TikTok sensation Havea676 as MC.
The show is from 2pm to 10pm.
