Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka and Minister for Sports, Jese Saukuru remain tightlipped and are not revealing anything as yet regarding a meeting which they had yesterday.
There are indications coming through that some discussions centred around the allegations against Saukuru and the independent investigation.
The question remains on whether Saukuru will resign to allow for independent investigations, and whether the Prime Minister will act on what happens next.
fijivillage News has asked the Prime Minister whether he met with Saukuru yesterday and whether he has confirmed he will go on leave for a month from March 9th.
We have also asked the Prime Minister what is his stand, what is being done to ensure there are no disruptions to the independent investigations, and how he is ensuring that no files or information have been tampered with.
Questions are also being asked on why Saukuru is allowed to stay on as it is seen as alleged favouritism even before the independent investigation starts.
We have asked the Prime Minister on whether he has asked Saukuru to step down after his ministerial visit to Kadavu.
People are asking how independent the investigation can be when the people being investigated remain in the top positions.
They say this is nothing personal but these matters need to be handled professionally.
Saukuru has not made any comments to fijivillage News after initially confirming to us that he and his wife travelled in business class under the Fiji Airways and Sports Council contra agreement.
Saukuru says he is willing to pay back the money for his wife's travel.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka had earlier said that Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua had resigned when there were allegations against the Ministry however Saukuru has chosen to stay on and is on an official tour of Yasawa and Kadavu.
The Prime Minister and the Sports Minister have not made further comments.
