Today marks a memorable occasion for the staff of St Giles Hospital with the opening of a new well-being centre designed to help nurses and doctors relax, reconnect with nature, and recharge after work.
The project was completed with support from key stakeholders including Leadership Fiji, Fiji Water, FMF Foods Limited, Bondwell Fiji, Captain Cook Cruises, South Sea Cruises, Vakabauta Events New Zealand, Commercial Group of Companies, Extra Supermarket, Fiji Football Association, GHD, Oceania Hospital, and several others.
Speaking at the event, Acting Medical Superintendent Sheetal Singh highlighted the importance of promoting mental health in the workplace, saying the space reflects efforts to create healthier work environments nationwide.
She stressed that healthcare professionals, especially those working in mental health, need supportive spaces to maintain their own well-being in order to provide better care.

Ravunawa says the initiative demonstrates unity and cooperation and will boost staff morale.
Representative from the Leadership Fiji Cohort of 2024, Losalini Nalawa says what they have built is not just timber and concrete, it is trust, friendship and it has a shared purpose.
