The Minister for Policing and Communications, Ioane Naivalurua has urged all Fijians to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, calling on the public to choose peace, responsibility and care for one another during the festive season.
In his Christmas message, Naivalurua says the season reminds people of the gift of Christ, peace, love and hope, and encouraged everyone to honour this by looking after one another on the roads, in their homes and online.
He stressed the importance of making responsible choices, warning that no celebration is worth the loss of a life.
The Minister also acknowledged the sacrifices made by police officers and emergency responders who remain on duty throughout the holidays.
He urged Fijians to choose peace over harm, responsibility over recklessness and love over self-interest, so that Christmas remains a time of joy rather than sorrow.
He is wishing all Fijians a blessed Christmas and a safe and peaceful New Year.
