The 43-year-old man who allegedly killed 16-year-old Salote Sikiti with a cane knife in Naqali Village, Naitasiri remains remanded in custody after the State Counsel requested more time this morning to finalise his psychiatric evaluation.
Samuela Dasalusalu is charged with one count of murder.
High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar asked the accused a few questions regarding whether his family had visited him during his time in remand, Dasalusalu says they have not visited him at all.
The accused also told the court that the Fiji Corrections Service has not been giving him his medication because of the side effects.
Judge Goundar has directed the State Counsel to seek clarification from the Corrections Service regarding the accused’s allegations.
The matter will be called again on the 27th of next month.
