Despite several calls and action taken by the Nasinu Town Council, Nadawa residents who continue to dump rubbish on the road side and have now been fined.

The Council, which recently cleaned up the area, stresses that this is costly, as each illegal rubbish heap requires extra trucks, additional work hours, and more ratepayers’ money.

The Council confirms that this morning, its Enforcement Team visited the affected locations, tracked down offenders, and issued fines in accordance with Council by-laws.

The Council also expressed gratitude to the residents who reported these incidents, stating that public vigilance makes a difference.

They emphasize that illegal dumping is a serious offence, with consequences including on-the-spot fines and possible court action for repeat or severe violations adding clean-up costs may also be recovered from offenders.

Nasinu Town Council is urging all residents to help keep their neighbourhoods clean by following the official waste collection schedules, using designated bins, and reporting illegal dumping with photos, time, and location details.

The Council reminds the public to show pride in our streets, protect the environment, and respect our neighbours by disposing of waste responsibly and keeping our community clean.
