The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Dr Jemesa Tudravu has passed away.
Acting Permanent Secretary Dr Luisa Cikamatana says that following the initial completion of traditional protocols, the Ministry now announces with deep sadness the passing of Dr Tudravu, who died yesterday.
Dr Cikamatana says Doctor Tudravu dedicated more than three decades of outstanding service to Fiji’s health sector.
He served as an orthopaedic surgeon after completing his specialist training at Newcastle Hospital in Australia, as Medical Superintendent at both Lautoka Hospital and the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, as Chief Medical Advisor, and Acting Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, before officially taking up the role of Permanent Secretary in February 2024.
She says Dr Tudravu led with humility, integrity, commitment, and compassion.
