26-year-old Eroni Mataisoso and his family celebrated Christmas Day at My Suva Park in Nasese, enjoying the warm Suva weather, food, music, fellowship, and grog as relatives travelled from Taveuni to be part of the gathering.

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces officer says it had been a long time since the family last came together, and meeting during Christmas to share stories and relive happy memories made the occasion truly special.

Originally from Qeleni in Taveuni, Mataisoso says this year’s celebrations was focused on family unity, support, and the true spirit of Christmas, which he said is rooted in love for Christ.

He is encouraging people to spend meaningful time with their loved ones during the festive season and advised against excessive consumption of kava and alcohol.

Mataisoso also called on young people and children to listen to their parents and stay away from drugs and other forms of substance abuse that could negatively affect their future.

He adds that having his sister visit from Nadi and his uncle from Taveuni during the festive period was a blessing for the entire family.
