Mandatory TIN Requirement for mobile wallet accounts due 31st Dec - FRCS

People are being reminded by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service that a valid Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) is a mandatory requirement for opening and maintaining Mobile Wallet accounts.

The FRCS says in accordance with the 2025–2026 National Budget Promulgation, all customers must update their details with their respective e-wallet service providers no later than 31st December 2025.

They strongly urge all customers to obtain a valid TIN if they do not already have one, update their account details with their e-wallet service providers as well before 31st December 2025.

For businesses, in addition to the general TIN requirement, they must maintain a separate e-wallet account exclusively for business transactions.

The FRCS says businesses are urged to ensure that these accounts are correctly registered with a valid TIN and used solely for business purposes.

They say non-compliance may also lead to a suspension of services from the e-wallet service providers.

FRCS says they continue to work closely with all licensed e-wallet service providers to facilitate the smooth rollout of these requirements.

They are strongly encouraging individuals and businesses to take timely action to avoid service disruptions and potential penalties.
