Indiscipline and a lacklustre performance have kept the Fiji Airways Men's National 7s side out of the Vancouver 7s final after they went down 24-17 to Spain in the semi finals this morning.
Spain was able to run in three quick tries in the first half to give them an edge over a Fiji side that looked like it had no direction as they were all over the place.
Skipper Jeremaia Matana was able to finally get Fiji on the board after scoring in the corner at the stroke of halftime.
Spain led 17-5 at halftime.
Paul Platt was shown a yellow card in the second half, which Fiji capitalised on, allowing Nacani Boginisoko to score out-wide.
A bit of indiscipline at the end cost Fiji the game as Matana was shown a yellow card for tackling a player without the ball, allowing Spain to slow things down and eventually boot the ball out and book their place in the final.
Coach Osea Kolinisau will have a lot to talk about as they prepare to take on Australia in the third-place playoff at 11.20am.
The Men's Cup final between South Africa and Spain is at 12.34pm.
