Legend FM supports 5 boys from Moana St Clare Hostel with back-to-school supplies

Legend FM through the Communications Fiji Limited Foundation has provided timely support to the Moana St Clare Boys Hostel in Nakasi, donating back-to-school stationery and essential items to help five boys prepare for the new academic year.

The five boys are Joshua, Daniel, Eparama, Ratu Finau and Niko.

Caregiver Moana Naulumatua, now in his second year at the home, says the assistance came at the perfect time.

Naulumatua says this is an emotional moment for both caregivers and the boys, bringing smiles and excitement while easing the burden of school preparations.

He adds that the support has boosted the boys’ motivation and confidence, especially as many of them have big ambitions and dreams for their future.

The Moana St Clare Boys Hostel usually accommodates nine boys, but currently has around five in care.

Naulumatua says many of the boys have not experienced family life or consistent care, and gestures like this remind them that they are valued and supported by the wider community.

He has acknowledged Legend FM and Communications Fiji Limited for thinking of the boys and contributing towards their education, saying the donation will be treasured and will go a long way in supporting them throughout the school year.

Legend FM Content Director, Victoria Vollmer led the team in extending their support, donating complete back-to-school packs to help the boys prepare for the new school year.

Vollmer says the gesture is a small token of appreciation aimed at helping the boys focus on their education and future.

She says that each boy received a fully packed back-to-school bag containing school uniforms, school sandals, books and stationery.

She highlights that personal care items such as soap, toothpaste, deodorant and hair gel were also included to ensure all their back-to-school needs are covered.

Vollmer says the initiative reflects their commitment to supporting young people and empowering them through education, encouraging the boys to work hard in school and believe in themselves as they begin the new academic year.
