Leadership is about service, responsibility and setting a positive example.
That was the message from the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, while officiating at the 2026 Prefects Induction Ceremony at Draiba Primary School in Suva, where the school’s student leaders were formally inducted for the year.
Radrodro congratulated the prefects, emphasising that they were carefully selected through a structured process that considered leadership skills, academic performance, discipline and character.

He also highlighted Draiba Primary School’s rich history, noting that it was established in 1947 by Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna, and praised its steady academic progress, including the Year 8 examination pass rate improving from 49 percent in 2023 to 74 percent in 2025.
The Minister also commended the school’s achievements in sports and extracurricular activities and encouraged students to uphold the values of respect, teamwork and dedication.

He also thanked parents, teachers and the school management for supporting the development of future leaders.
