Lautoka Central College Head Boy, Deevansh Singh is urging students to stay away from drugs and take greater responsibility in protecting the environment during the school’s Prefect Induction Ceremony.
Singh warns that drugs do not make life better but limit it, stealing focus, health, dreams and the future.
He stresses that one bad decision can undo years of hard work and encourages young people to be strong enough to say no, smart enough to choose better and brave enough to walk away.
Singh also highlights the importance of caring for the environment, saying the place where students learn, live and play matters, and that littering, pollution and careless behaviour harm not only nature but people’s own wellbeing.

Addressing the newly inducted prefects, Singh says leadership is not about authority or position, but about character.
He says wearing the badge is a promise to lead by example, uphold school values and put the needs of others above personal comfort.

Referring to the school motto, Devotion to Knowledge, Singh says it is about learning how to lead, listen, stay calm and do the right thing.
He adds that devotion to knowledge does not stop in the classroom but is reflected in how students treat others, handle challenges and learn from their mistakes.
