Thousands of Hindus in Fiji and around the world are celebrating the Festival of Colours 'Holi' today.
The Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji has called on the public to celebrate Holi responsibly while promoting unity, righteousness, and a drug-free future.
In a message released to the media, the Sabha extended warm greetings to all Hindus and the wider Fijian community.
The Sabha says Holi symbolises the victory of good over evil, truth over falsehood, and righteousness over negativity.
They say it also serves as a reminder of the divine message from the stories of Prahlad and Holika, highlighting faith, devotion, and purity of heart.
The Sabha also highlighted the social message of Holi, urging communities to remain vigilant against drug abuse, support healthy family environments, and guide young people away from harmful habits.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has approved the closure of all Sanatan Dharm schools today to observe Holi.
The Sabha has thanked the Government and the Ministry of Education for granting the holiday.
The Sabha wished peace, prosperity, good health, and happiness to every household in Fiji during the Holi celebrations.
The Navtarang and Radio Sargam Holi Show will be this Saturday at the Rups Mega Complex in Nakasi.
