A heavy rain warning remains in force for all of Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office confirms that a flash flood warning remains in force for whole of Viti Levu while a flash flood alert remains in force for the whole of Vanua Levu.

A flood warning remains in force for all low lying flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Nakauvadra River including Rakiraki Town, Naseyani at Yaqara River, Tavua River, flood plains of Ba River, Nadi and Nawaka River.

A flood alert remains in force for all low lying flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Tuva River in Nadroga.

An active trough of low pressure lies over the Fiji islands. Associated cloud, showers, and rain are expected to affect the country until tomorrow.

Occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times with a few thunderstorms, are expected over most places. Rain will gradually ease and clear from tomorrow.

The Nadi Weather Office warns that localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Possible impacts are flash flooding of flood prone low-lying informal settlements/communities, businesses and Irish crossings leading to traffic disruptions, surface flooding on streets in urban areas with poor drainage and wet roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavy downpours, increasing the risk of road accidents.

The public is advised to stay alert, avoid flood-prone areas, and monitor official updates as conditions develop.
