Gender equality is not a woman’s issue, it is a societal issue and when women and men have equal opportunities, everyone benefits.
This was highlighted by the Secretary-General to Parliament, Jeanette Emberson, at the closing of the Gender Transformative Institutional Capacity Development (ICD) Training held at the Korovou Prison Complex.
She says that transformation begins with awareness and must be sustained through action, shaping how institutions listen, lead and serve all Fijians equally.
Emberson called on all participants to turn knowledge into meaningful action.
She reaffirmed that gender equality benefits society as a whole and encouraged continued efforts to foster an inclusive and just Fiji.
