Former Fijiana Coach Ioan Cunningham joins Scotland Women’s team

Former Head Coach of the Vodafone Fijiana XVs Ioan Cunningham has joined Scotland women's backroom staff.


Cunningham takes up a new assistant role and will work closely with Sione Fukofuka, who was appointed head coach in December.


Speaking to BBC News, Cunningham says he is honoured and excited to work with Scottish Rugby, especially working with the Scotland senior women's team.


He says he has a personal connection to Scotland as his father is Scottish.


Meanwhile, the Fiji Rugby Union has advertised the positions of Fijiana 15s and Fijian Drua Women's Head Coach on January 1st.


Other roles advertised included Assistant Coach for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team, as well as Head Coach, Forwards Coach and Backs Coach for the Fiji Under-20.


fijivillage has sent questions to the FRU Chief Executive Officer Koli Sewabu seeking clarification on whether the positions have been filled and if any appointments have been made.
