Sangeeta Prasad of Namaka, Nadi, who graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the Fiji National University, remembered her late father on her special day.

Prasad shares that while she was extremely happy, she believed her father was watching over her from heaven and would be very proud of her achievements.

She also says her mother, who is in Nadi, is extremely proud of her hard work and accomplishments.

As the youngest of six siblings, Prasad stresses one of her biggest challenges while studying in Suva was managing her expenses wisely.

She explains that due to financial difficulties, she often had to think twice before spending in order to stay within budget.

Prasad shares she also faced accommodation issues when she moved from Namaka to Suva for her studies.

She says she chose to pursue accounting because she saw a lot of potential and career opportunities in the field.

While acknowledging that accounting can be challenging, Prasad said it becomes very interesting once you begin to understand it.

She advised students that despite challenges and unforeseen circumstances, they should never give up and must continue to strive forward.
