The Fiji National Blood Service, in partnership with the Sathya Sai Service Organisation of Fiji, is urging the public to “share some liquid love” by donating blood at a special drive this morning at Courts Nakasi, Rups Mega Complex.
Eligible donors must be between 16 and 65 years old, weigh at least 50kg, and meet other health requirements, including being free from recent alcohol consumption, medication, tattoos, or piercings.
Donors are also advised to have a regular meal before giving blood and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Minister for Health and representatives from the Fiji National Blood Service emphasized that one pint of blood can save up to three lives, highlighting the critical role donors play in saving lives across Fiji.
For those unable to attend the Nakasi drive, blood donations can also be made directly at Blood Banks in Suva, Lautoka, and Labasa.
The blood donation drive will conclude at 4.00pm.
