Fiji Evangelical Fellowship President Reverend Onisi Burekama and the Executive Board have paid tribute to their longest-serving General Secretary, Reverend Simione Tugi who passed away in Nairobi over the weekend after a short illness.
Reverend Burekama says Reverend Tugi was one of Fiji’s strongest Christian advocates against drugs, courageously standing for righteousness and the protection of families, youth, and communities.
He says Reverend Tugi’s final message to the Church has been described as a lasting legacy of his ministry.
He urged churches in Fiji to take seriously the preparation of believers for the return of Jesus Christ through preaching repentance, holiness, purity, righteousness, and eternal life.
The Fellowship says this message reflects the very heart of his lifelong convictions.
It says Reverend Tugi was widely respected across the country for his spiritual authority and moral clarity.
Funeral arrangements have not been confirmed, but the Fellowship says an official announcement will be made once details are finalised.
