Fiji Airways and Tourism Fiji have signed a two-year Memorandum of Understanding to grow Fiji’s global connectivity and destination marketing efforts.
While the MOU has been in place for several years, this is the first between the organisations' new Chief Executive Officers and the first to span two years.
Fiji Airways says under the agreement, Fiji Airways and Tourism Fiji will work together on initiatives that fulfil the core objective for each organisation.
Fiji Airways says this means getting more passengers on seats, and for Tourism Fiji, this means bringing more visitors to Fiji.
They say under the MOU Fiji Airways will support a range of initiatives via flight initiatives spanning cobranded marketing campaigns, trade engagement, and public relations activity across key markets, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Asia and the Pacific.
They say the renewed agreement strengthens a decade-long partnership between the two organisations, enhancing joint efforts across global marketing campaigns and shared market
intelligence, and precision-driven digital initiatives,

Fiji Airways further says tourism is the backbone of the country’s economy, and as the national airline, they are proud to play a leading role in connecting Fiji to the world.
This new agreement reflects their continued commitment to the nation and the sustainable growth of Fiji’s tourism industry.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Paul Scurrah says the success of previous joint marketing efforts shows the strength of this collaboration, and they are excited to build on that momentum.
Scurrah says Fiji Airways is an essential partner in showcasing Fiji to the world and ensuring travellers
can easily access our islands.
Meanwhile, Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer Dr Paresh Pant says they are excited to continue working closely with
Scurrah and his team and through this renewed MOU, they are exploring new joint initiatives and innovative
approaches to complement the strong work already underway.
Dr Pant says more visitors to Fiji
benefits the nation’s economy.
Dr Pant added that Fiji Airways’ global partnerships are also helping Tourism Fiji expand the destination’s reach into new markets.
He says tourism is the largest contributor to Fiji’s economy, accounting for around 40 percent of national GDP and supporting more than 150,000 jobs across the country, nearly one in every three jobs nationwide.
As Fiji’s national airline, Fiji Airways provides critical connectivity to key international markets and carries around 70 percent of all visitors who arrive in Fiji by air.
Scurrah says the airline continues to monitor global developments, including the evolving situation in the Middle East, while remaining focused on maintaining reliable operations and supporting Fiji’s tourism growth.
The CEO adds while they continue to monitor global developments that may affect the aviation sector, Fiji’s geographic location, relative isolation, and reputation as a safe, family-friendly destination continue to support strong travel interest.
