FIFA World Cup pool draw has been confirmed with defending champions, Argentina have been placed in Group J alongside Algeria, Austria and Jordan.

From the Oceania region, New Zealand face a far grittier challenge in Group G, drawn alongside Belgium, Egypt and Iran.

The 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup will be held in June and July 2026 and will be jointly hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Meanwhile, the draw was held in Washington DC this morning where President Donald Trump received the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize before the draw.

The award has been introduced this year by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, designated for a person who has "taken exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace" and "united people across the world".

As well as receiving a large golden trophy, Trump was also given a medal and certificate by Infantino before making a speech.
