President Jeffrey R. Holland, who served as President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has died at the age of 85 from complications related to kidney disease.

He had been serving as President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since October 14, 2025.

The Church says his funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 31st, from 11am to noon MST at the Tabernacle on Temple Square, with doors opening at 9.30am.

Admission will be on a space-available basis, and overflow seating will be provided.

The service will be broadcast online on ChurchofJesusChrist.org and the Church’s YouTube channel, with live interpretation in 38 languages.

The Church says President Dallin H. Oaks will preside over the funeral, while Elder Quentin L. Cook, who was a mission companion of President Holland in the 1960s, will conduct the service.

Remarks from the Holland family will be included, and music will be provided by the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.

President Holland will be buried privately in St. George, Utah, next to his wife, Patricia, who passed away in 2023.
