Drua face tough test as rivalry with Waratahs reignites in Sydney

Drua face tough test as rivalry with Waratahs reignites in Sydney

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will have a tough task set out for them tomorrow as they reignite their rivalry with the NSW Waratahs in Sydney.

Bragging rights are on the line as over the last few years the two teams have met four times with the Drua winning two and the Tahs winning two as well.

No surprise as well that those two wins were at home while the losses were in Australia.

Isikeli Rabitu and Tuidraki Samusamuvodre will have their hands full trying to contain Wallabies centre Joseph Suaalii as Tahs coach Dan McKellar has named him to start his second consecutive game at 13.

The codehopper was impressive at outside centre, particularly defensively, in the Waratahs’ comprehensive defeat of the Queensland Reds in last Friday’s season opener where they beat the Reds 36-12.

In their last meeting the Drua thumped the Waratahs 28-14 at The Fortress in Lautoka.

Drua coach, Glen Jackson has rung in some changes this week bringing back flyhalf Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula, wing Tomasi Rakuro, flankers Joseva Tamani, Motikiai Murray and co-captain and halfback Frank Lomani into the starting lineup.

The Drua will face the Waratahs at 8.35pm tomorrow.

In other games, the Hurricanes play Moana Pasifika at 6.05pm tomorrow, the Chiefs will meet the Highlanders at 6.05pm Saturday, the Force will face the Blues at 8.35pm Saturday while the Crusaders host the Brumbies at 2.35pm Sunday.
