Ahead of New Year celebrations, Delhi Police conducted an overnight crackdown, arresting hundreds, seizing illegal weapons, and recovering stolen property to prevent festive crimes.
The intensified operation, dubbed Operation Aaghat 3.0, carried out by South East Delhi Police, targeted organised crime, repeat offenders, and street-level criminals.
Authorities arrested 285 people under the Arms, Excise, NDPS, and Gambling Acts, while 504 others were detained as a preventive measure.
The raids also recovered 21 pistols, 20 live cartridges, 27 knives, drugs, illegal liquor, 310 stolen mobile phones, and 231 two-wheelers along with one four-wheeler.
Police say the large-scale operation, involving 1,306 people, was designed to deter crime and ensure public safety during the high-risk New Year period.
