Datec Pte Limited has officially launched the Fiji Tech Summit 2026, marking its fifth consecutive year as one of the largest technology gatherings in the South Pacific, focusing on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, automation and digital resilience.
Head of ICT and Innovation, Ronald Sharma highlighted the summit as a prestigious milestone for Datec, noting its growth from a knowledge-sharing initiative into a regional technology platform attracting participants from Fiji, the Pacific Islands and Australia.
He says the launch sets the stage for the summit under the theme “Bringing the Pacific Together”, which aims to expand regional collaboration, reflecting the increasing need for shared solutions to common digital challenges.
Sharma says a key focus of this year’s summit will be cybersecurity, as businesses continue to face rising threats, including ransomware, phishing attacks and data breaches.
He says global brand speakers and industry leaders are expected to discuss how organisations can protect themselves and recover from cyber incidents.
He adds that artificial intelligence will also take centre stage, emphasising that AI is designed to enhance productivity.

Sharma highlighted the global impact of AI investment, noting that high demand for advanced hardware and chipsets has led to supply constraints and rising costs for IT equipment such as laptops, desktops and storage devices.
He says the summit will address how organisations can plan strategically and prepare for the continued expansion of AI technologies, looking ahead to 2028 and beyond.
He says robotics and automation will also be explored as solutions to skills and resource gaps, particularly in small island economies.
Sharma says emerging technologies, including developments in autonomous and electric vehicles, are also expected to form part of vendor discussions.
HSE and Quality Coordinator at Datec, Renee Asenaca Cavu says the event remains committed to inclusion and diversity.
She says following collaboration with Women in Tech initiatives in previous years, they are continuing efforts to ensure broader representation across industries and generations.
She adds that the event is expected to host more than 350 delegates, over 25 global exhibitors and more than 20 conference sessions across two days.
Cavu says the event will feature keynote presentations, breakout and technical sessions, exhibitions and networking opportunities designed to foster learning, collaboration and solution discovery.
The 2026 Fiji Tech Summit will be held on 12th and 13th November at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa.
Registrations are now open through the official summit website, with organisers urging delegates to secure their packages early as the countdown to the event begins.
