More people are taking home plants to brighten their homes and grow their own food, with one Nakasi-based nursery reporting strong customer interest at the 2026 Fiji Showcase.
Reni Kumar's Nursery, which has been operating since 2015, says customer numbers have been better than last year, with Sunday proving to be its busiest day so far.

A representative from the nursery says visitors have been buying a wide range of plants, including flowering and ornamental plants, fruit trees, indoor plants and vegetable seedlings.
She says while some customers are looking to beautify their homes, others are choosing fruit trees and vegetable seedlings to start or expand their home gardens.

Despite the strong sales, she says rising fuel prices continue to affect businesses and households.
She hopes fuel prices will come down, saying this would also help reduce the cost of other goods.
The nursery is encouraging people to make the most of the final day of the Fiji Showcase by taking advantage of the special offers, enjoying the entertainment and family activities, and supporting local businesses.
The entertainment continues today, the final day of Fiji Showcase 2026, with another packed programme.
On the Vodafone External Entertainment Stage, Malumu Ni Tobu kei Naivakura is performing now from 12pm to 1pm, followed by Back to Front Boys from 1pm to 2pm.
