Miss National Fire Authority Temalesi Alutakua has been crowned Miss Charity at the 70th FMF Hibiscus Festival.
Alutakua raised $18,507.90 through her charity campaign, earning her the prestigious title during the festival’s final day celebrations in Suva.
As part of her prize, Alutakua also wins a return trip overseas.
Speaking after receiving the title, an emotional Alutakua thanked the National Fire Authority for supporting her throughout her journey. She says she is dedicating the crown to the men and women of the National Fire Authority who serve communities across Fiji through its 21 fire stations. Alutakua also thanked her parents, family, the Solomon community and everyone who supported her throughout the competition.

She says her faith played an important role in her journey and gave the glory to God for her achievement.
When asked where she would like to travel with the free return trip provided by Fiji Airways, Alutakua chose the Solomon Islands.
