After a six-year break, the National Agriculture Show is returning to Labasa, with farmers set to learn about new farming technologies, food security, income generation and ways to deal with the prolonged dry spell.
The three-day event will be held from tomorrow to Thursday at Subrail Park, using Ground 1 and Ground 2.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Divisional Agriculture Officer North Sujendra Prasad highlighted that new technologies and farming methods will be introduced to help farmers deal with current challenges, including the fuel crisis and the prolonged drought spell.
Singh says farmers will be shown ways to improve food production and generate income, with practical knowledge they can take back and use on their farms.
He says breeding animals will be brought from Viti Levu, including cattle, sheep, goats and pigs, and will be displayed during the event.
He says information booths will also provide farmers, agriculture students and members of the public with pamphlets, leaflets and posters containing useful farming information.
