Labasa striker Christopher Wasasala has become Bula FC’s 11th warrior ahead of the new season.The 30-year-old, originally from Kia Island in Macuata, joins Bula FC after a decade-long career that has seen him feature for some of Fiji’s top football teams.Wasasala says his football journey has always been inspired by his late uncle, Simon ‘Maradona’ Peters, the legendary Labasa finisher whose goals helped the Babasiga Lions secure their first IDC title in 1992 and several major victories in the years that followed. He says that legacy ignited his passion for the sport and shaped him into the fearless forward fans know today.His football foundation was laid in Labasa, beginning at Gurunanak Primary School before continuing at Khalsa College and Labasa Muslim College. He later progressed through the Labasa youth system before breaking onto the national stage.Wasasala says signing with Bula FC represents a major step both professionally and personally.He say it’s always been his dream to become a professional player.The Labasa striker says people have always known him as a Labasa player, but this contract gives him the chance to take a bigger step in his career.
