History has been made as Fiji makes the Top 50 Global Tech Leaders for 2026 by the Tech Diplomacy Global Institute, marking Fiji’s first appearance on the prestigious global list.

Tupoutuah Baravilala, Director-General of Communications in the Ministry of Policing and Communications, has been recognised as one of the Top 50 Global Tech Leaders for 2026.

This historic recognition highlights Fiji’s growing leadership in technology governance and digital diplomacy.

The Tech Diplomacy Global Institute, established in collaboration with UNESCO, is a global platform advancing inclusive, ethical, and coordinated approaches to emerging technologies such as AI, cybersecurity, and digital trade.

This milestone reflects Fiji’s increasing voice in shaping global conversations on technology, innovation, and digital inclusion.
