The bail ruling for Flagstaff drug accused Joshua Ravula, along with Rewa Street drug accused Yu Yang Feng, Minghui Dai, Zhou Lan, Lagomarcino Baules, Ginna Choi, and Peniasi Delai, will be delivered on April 2nd.
Ravula’s counsel, Amani Bale, told the court that his client has been in remand since September, and ODPP counsel Eoghn Samisoni has not provided a response to their bail application filed on March 4th.
He says Ravula’s medical examination report is still with the Totogo Police Station and has not been provided to him.
Ginna Choi’s lawyer, Francine Chand, has applied for her bail on medical grounds.
Feng, Dai, and Lan’s counsel, Shirley Tivao, says the High Court will also rule on their bail application on April 2nd.
She says they want the trial date to be set as soon as possible, as the three have been in remand for seven months and there has been no indication of a hearing date or progress in the case.
DPP counsel Samisoni is objecting to bail and has been given until March 27th to respond to the applications.
Ravula is charged with one count of illicit drug possession, where he was allegedly found with 42.9 grams of methamphetamine at the Yue Lai Hotel in October last year.
Feng, Dai, and Lan are charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
It is alleged that the three were found with 39.509 grams of methamphetamine on Rewa Street in October last year.
Meanwhile, Lagomarcino Baules, Ginna Choi, and Peniasi Delai are jointly charged with the unlawful possession of 0.345 grams of methamphetamine.
