Back to School Assistance payments for the 2026 school year will begin today, with $40 million allocated for the programme in the 2025–2026 National Budget.
Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro says the assistance will be paid to eligible students to support families as the new school year commences.
He says Year 13 students will receive their payments at a later date, once enrolments are fully confirmed by schools.
Parents and guardians who require further information or assistance are encouraged to visit the Ministry of Education’s District Offices or contact the Help Desk at Waisomo House.
The Ministry has acknowledged and thanked parents, schools, and stakeholders for their continued cooperation, stating that it is vital to ensuring a smooth and successful start to the 2026 school year.
