Barcelona’s hopes of a comeback ended as Atletico Madrid held on for a 4-3 win in the Copa del Rey semi-final.
Marc Bernal scored twice and Raphinha added a penalty, giving Barcelona a chance to force extra time, but they couldn’t find the fourth goal.
Barcelona had lost 4-nil in the first leg and started strongly, with early chances for Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and substitute Alejandro Balde.
Bernal opened the scoring in the 29th minute, assisted by Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha converted a penalty before half-time.
Bernal scored again late in the second half.
Atletico Madrid will now face the winner of Real Sociedad vs Athletic Club in the final.
