Another Vishnu Holdings bus involved in accident in the North

A second accident involving a bus operated by Vishnu Holdings Limited has occurred in less than a month - this time the bus was stranded while attempting to cross a flooded passage in Cakaudrove yesterday afternoon.

Operations Manager Shonal Dutt confirmed to fijivillage News that the incident happened at around 3pm near Nakasa Village in Wailevu, as the bus was enroute to Kubulau.

Dutt says the driver attempted to cross a flooded passage but was unable to do so, resulting in the bus getting into difficulties.

He stresses that no passengers were injured and all are safe.

He says the driver acted on his own accord and did not consult the company before attempting to cross the flooded area.

Dutt says company policy strictly prohibits drivers from crossing flooded passages under any circumstances, and the incident was the result of a deliberate decision by the driver to disregard these instructions.

He adds that while it is unfortunate that the incident occurred, the company is grateful that no lives were lost and no injuries were sustained.

This is the second incident involving a Vishnu Holdings bus in less than a month.

In the earlier incident in Savusavu, Dutt confirmed that a senior driver reportedly lost control of a bus, although police have yet to release an official report on that matter.

Questions have been sent to police for further clarification regarding both incidents.
