Alex Pene with his family
A Suva and New Zealand family have been planning their outing for the last couple of months around the UB40 featuring Ali Campbell Big Love Tour with Katchafire.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Alex Pene says 18 family members arrived in 3 vehicles this morning.

He says while he and the Finiasi family are from Suva the Samuela family came all the way from New Zealand.

They left Suva at 5am making two stops along the way at Maui Bay for breakfast and in Sigatoka for some last minute shopping.

Pene says they bought the early bird tickets as soon as they dropped last October.

When asked what his favourite UB40 song is, Pene quickly quipped Red Red Wine as it has been his ringtone for the last 20 years.

We also spoke to some other people who did not want their photos taken because they were all on sick leave from the office just to come and attend the concert.

There is a party atmosphere in Nadi as more people are still streaming in through the gates.

The concert will go until 10 tonight.

Supporting acts are Nicky & Ouvacast, Paradise Rootz and DJ Vibes while the MC is TikTok sensation Havea676.

New Zealand reggae royalty Katchafire will take the stage at 6pm while headliners UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will hit the stage at 8pm.
