In an effort to combat climate change, provide food security and restore biodiversity, the Mokani Youth Club will be planting 1,500 trees in their community to support the government’s initiative of planting 30 million trees in 15 years.

The Club says this project changes the climate making it fresher, cooler, and more beautiful.

They say the truth is that we must care for the environment as it is our shared home.

They add supporting the planting of thousands of trees for sustainable rural livelihoods today, and generations to come.

The Club is also part of the Job for Nature Program, where 13 members have found employment.

Each member collected around $401 after the deduction of their Fiji National Provident Fund Voluntarily Member Account.

The Club also acknowledge the support of the government and the World Bank for this initiative.
