A youth group known as the Hakwa Gang in Nadroga delivered more that $4,000 worth of basic food items and sanitary packs to Vatulele Island.

Group President Samuela Kuridrani says more than 2 tonnes of food and sanitary packs were sent to the island.

They were assisted by the Nadroga Provincial Council who did an assessment on the ground and advised them on the needs of the villagers.

He says the donations are from their members locally and abroad.

Kuridrani is also encouraging youth groups from other provinces to support those in need in their villages and their provinces during these challenging times.
