The Young Kulas have opened their OFC U-19 Women’s Championship campaign in Tahiti with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Cook Islands this afternoon.
Adi Reva scored for Fiji early in the match but Aikitu Mose’s powerful header levelled the score in the first half.
Annie Finau’s second-half goal, capitalising on a goalkeeping error, ultimately sealed the points for Fiji.
Fiji now leads Group A with three points, and only a Tonga win can stop both Fiji and the Cook Islands from reaching the semi-finals.
The Young Kulas will now take on Tonga on Sunday at 1pm.
