Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem

As the Fijian Elections Office will be providing free transport service for voters to reach their polling venues on election day this Wednesday, people will be able to go on the FEO website from today to find out who to contact for transport and what is the transport route plan for the day.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says the voter only has to enter their polling venue on their website to get the details.

You can text your voter ID number for free from any service provider to the number 1500 to find out your polling venue while the detail is also provided on the upgraded blue voter ID card.

Saneem says they, in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Land Transport Authority, will also be running the call centre on election day for which the toll free number is 1503.

He says voters will be able to call this toll free number so that FEO can connect the voter with the number they have to contact for the purposes of knowing when is the next transport route service on their way.

Saneem says all Advisory Councillors from the entire country are engaged for this project.

Stickers with route details will be pasted on the bus, mini bus or carrier that will be providing the free service and for some areas, the FEO will be using boats as well.

The Supervisor says his team is having meetings with the bus companies and Advisory Councillors once again for the final round so that they are all aware of their roles, tasks and responsibilities on the day.

He further says books about who to call and the routes the free transport have been printed for each division and will be given to all political parties as well, so that they are able to help voters who may need assistance on the day in terms of getting onto a bus or a public service vehicle that will operated by the FEO.
