Education Minister Premila Kumar.

The school term for Years 12 and 13 is from 1st November 2021 to 28th January 2022.

Education Minister Premila Kumar has confirmed today that the Christmas and New Year break will be from 23rd December 2021 to 3rd January 2022.

She says classes will resume on 4th January 2022 after the Christmas and New Year break.

The Education Minister confirms examinations for Years 12 and 13 are scheduled to start on 17th January and the results are expected to be out by mid-March.

Kumar adds this timing is based on the assumption that there will be no cyclones.

The Education Minister further says tertiary institutions are expected to re-organise their start dates to accommodate this.
