The vision and dream of the late Turaga Na Tui Lau and Tui Nayau, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara to have a sustainable investment company has been achieved as Yatu Lau Company which started with $7 capital in 1972 now has an asset portfolio of over $70 million.

Present at the 50th anniversary celebration of the company was BSP's General Manager of Corporate Banking, Maikash Ali, who highlighted that they will provide 100% financial support for the facelift of the Yatu Lau Arcade Project to bring it to international standards.

It will be funded by a $10 million investment loan from BSP.

Ali says it's a milestone achievement for the people of Lau, who have contributed immensely to the development and growth of our beloved nation in their quest for better and higher education to achieve the dreams of their vanua, tikina, village and family.

He says BSP formed a partnership with the Yatu Lau Company a few years back and had achieved a lot through the achievements made.

He adds that they will work hand in hand with the company to retain the next level.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Lau Provincial Council, Ratu Meli Saubulinayau says the new Yatu Lau Arcade Project will cost around $10 million and will be completed in 2024.
