Work on Korosomo Slip expected to be completed in a month

Work on Korosomo Slip expected to be completed in a month

Korosomo Hill Lane on Nabouwalu Road.

If you are affected by the slip in Korosomo on the Vanua Levu road network, please be advised that realignment work at Korosomo Slip in Labasa will be completed in a month’s time.

This has been confirmed by construction company, Fair Deal’s Managing Director, Parmod Kumar who says if the weather is good then work will be completed at a faster rate.

Rain can also delay the works.

He says teams are working till 10pm every night to complete the work.

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama visited the site yesterday as he and other senior government ministers are touring the Northern Division and are providing assistance to villages and schools affected by TC Yasa and Ana.

Meanwhile, Minister for Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu says the earlier issue involving landowners has been resolved.

It was earlier said the landowners had given their agreement for the realignment during their initial talks however, another set of landowners had claimed ownership of that land.

According to the Fiji Roads Authority, there was miscommunication amongst the landowners.
