24-year-old Talei Siteri Bola who is charged with 91 counts of theft has been remanded in custody until she pays her bail bond of $2,000.

Bola appeared before Suva Magistrate Krishan Prasad.

The case has been adjourned to the 16th of May.

The Police Prosecution told the court that she is a first offender, it was a pre-planned offence, she has other matters under investigation with the police and has obtained more than $46,000 which cannot be recovered.

It is alleged that the 24-year-old between April 2022 to August 2022 committed the offences while being employed as a cashier at Shop N Save Supermarket.

Police say she was provided with a point of sale station login, where she allegedly created her password and conducted the transactions.

They say an audit led to the discovery of more than $46,000 allegedly misappropriated by the accused, where she stole cash and assorted groceries from the shop through quotes for her personal use.
