A father and son who are both accused of raping the same woman in Suva have been remanded in custody by the Suva High Court.

The court was told the woman, now 20 years old, is the 49 year old man's daughter and the 21 year old man's sister.

Both father and son have been separately charged with one count of rape each.

The DPP, however, told the court that they are looking at multiple charges as the alleged incidents occurred multiple times over a period of time.

State lawyer, Saif Shah sought time to file disclosures.

It is alleged the incidents happened multiple times in 2018.

The prosecution is yet to determine whether the woman was 18 years old or a minor at the time of the alleged incidents.

They also informed the court a medical report done recently showed no signs of injury as the alleged incidents occurred some time ago.

The state also objected to bail in light of the domestic relationship between the woman and the men.

The case will be called again on the 29th of next month.
