Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka confirms that Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pita Wise resigned after he forwarded a complaint against Wise.

Public Service Commission Chairman, Luke Rokovada confirms that the complaint against Wise was discussed by the Commission yesterday.

Rokovada says they called Wise for a discussion, and following that, he offered to hand in his resignation.

When asked by fijivillage News on whether the matter has been forwarded to Police, Rokovada says it is not for them to forward it to Police, as that is for the complainant.

Police confirm they do not have any report.

Earlier today, the PSC announced that the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Fiji Ports Corporation Ltd, Pita Wise has voluntarily resigned from the civil service due to personal reasons.

While confirming this, Public Service Commission Chairman, Luke Rokovada highlighted that Wise has served as the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister since January 2023, bringing extensive experience from his previous roles in various administrations.

He says Wise’s career spanned over 30 years, during which he played an instrumental role in numerous government initiatives and policies.

Wise’s resignation is effective from today.
