Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says while their focus is also on the 2022 General Elections operations, they are equally focused on routine operations.

While officiating at the Suva Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, Qiliho made a request for Fijians to prioritize their safety this festive season.

He says Christmas is a time of joy, a time to be with your family and loved ones, and that is the mission of Police this festive season, to provide the conducive environment for all to celebrate the festive season without any major incidents.

Qiliho adds this is why they continue to reach out and ask for everyone’s support and taking ownership of their safety and security.

He further says this Christmas, let us resolve to be more proactive with our safety.

Qiliho adds let us resolve to keeping our women and children safe, to enjoy the festivities responsibly, to keep our roads safe by being responsible drivers and pedestrians, to be better neighbours and look out for each other and to work together in making our communities safe.

The Christmas in the Park initiative is a partnership with the Suva City Council and Vodafone.
