After suffering a humiliating defeat in round one of the Vanua State of Origin series, the Western Maroons are back to overturn a possible sweep at this weekend’s Origin II round at Ratu Cakobau Park.

Maroons Head Coach Vela Tawake has assembled the best form team for this round and is adamant that they will be no excuses this time.

Tawake says he is confident in his Men’s origin side heading into Game II, and the expectation for their players is to deliver clean and quality football.

He adds that this is the best form team coming into Origin Week and focus is to overturn any chance of the Blues making another clean sweep for this round.

Meanwhile, Blues Head Coach Viliame Domo says it’s not going to be any easier match but they are up for the fight and are ready for the challenge.

Domo says he have spoken to the boys and they’ve understood their goal and the amount of work needed to be done.

Game II of the Vanua State of Origin series will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori at 11:50am starting off with the U19 teams, 1pm feature the Women premier match and at 2.30pm is the Men’s premier match.

Tickets to Game II are $10 for the Adults and $5 for the Kids.
