We should never lose hope and always think positively.

This is the message by 25-year-old Diwashna Darshika Kumar who operates D's Creamy Creations, cakes and pastry business in Navua which is currently her only source of income.

She says she started her home based business during COVID-19 when there were no cake shops in Navua to fulfill the customers’ demands and many people had to travel to Suva to buy their pastries during any occasion.

Kumar says there are always ups and downs in life however, there’s always a way out from every problem.

The young entrepreneur says she always had an interest in baking as while growing up she would see her mum baking different pastries and making sweets which motivated her to do a pastry and chef course at the FNU Vocational Training Centre.

She says she has faced many challenges in life but with her family, friends and customers’ support, she always did her best to overcome her challenges and fulfill her customers’ demands.

The 25-year-old says she has gained a lot of experience, customers and ideas in the past few years and wishes to expand her business in the future.
